Saved Tooth of the Day By Alex Hecht on September 12, 2014

This 16 year old girl would have had a fairly rotten weekend with a broken front tooth. Luckily we were available to come to this office for a quick emergency visit. She brought the broken piece in, and we were able to bond it right back into place.

If anyone breaks a tooth or knocks the whole tooth out of their mouth, quick action can be very critical. In the case of an avulsed tooth (a tooth that has completely fell out), what you do in the first hour is very important. The tooth should be immediately placed in saliva, milk, or saline.

In this case the patient already knew that saliva is the best thing to keep the part of the tooth in, and she put it in a saliva bath. At that point a careful bonding procedure yielded these phenomenal results
