Top 5 Reasons to Consider Dentures

Whether you see our highly regarded dentists for traditional or implant-supported dentures, these beautiful, high-quality restorations can improve your life in many ways:

Boosts Your Self-Esteem

Studies show that people with bright, healthy smiles have more confidence at social or professional events.

Improved Oral Functions

Proper chewing and speaking depend on having a full set of healthy teeth. Even one missing tooth can cause difficulties.

Better Oral Health

When teeth are missing, your jawbone can deteriorate and weaken. Dental implants that support dentures encourage healthy bone growth, strengthening your jaw.

Better Diet

Replacing missing teeth with dentures can allow you to eat more nutritious foods like nuts and crunchy raw fruits and veggies.

Improved Appearance

Aside from leaving visible gaps in your smile, missing teeth can make your face look shriveled, aged, and unhealthy.

Dr. Jason Hecht on Our In-House Dentures Lab

Most other New York dental practices mail dental impressions to create dentures to an outside lab. Mistakes can be made in the creation process or mail delivery problems can delay your ability to chew, smile, and speak properly. Dr. Jason Hecht is specially trained to handcraft dental restorations like dentures in our state-of-the-art, on-site lab. In some cases, same-day restorations can be created in-house by Dr. Hecht.

I was one of those people that never went to the dentist. Over time, 3 of my teeth started loosening and I pulled them out myself. They were in the back, so they were not noticeable to anyone. Unfortunately, no one tells you that when you leave a space between your teeth for too long, the rest of your teeth start to shift which started to become an even worse problem so I had no choice but to make an appointment. I have been going there since 2017 and got my entire top row of teeth replaced. The process was painless (I know shocking) but it truly was. The entire staff from Dr Jason and Dr Alex to Judy, Jackie, the dental assistants, the hygenist Laurine (if I spelled your name incorrectly I apologize) and everyone else are all friendly, helpful, and accommodating to your time schedule. I would definitely recommend them for any major dental procedures you need done.

For years I struggled with dental problems stemming from missing teeth, eventually ending up with partial and full conventional dentures. That was accompanied with messy denture adhesive. I started getting educated about Dental Implants. After attending several consultations, I read about Drs. Alex, and Jason Hecht’s practice, and scheduled a consult. Almost everything was explained in detail, about the procedures. Yes, the process is costly,, but well worth it. All aspects of the procedure are conducted at this one location. Today I have a complete mouth replacement, full upper and lower implants. I no longer have to worry, or be picky about which foods to eat. Dr. Jason did the majority of work, aided by other professional, personable staff. My thanks go to Dr. Jason, along with office staff Judy, Jackie, JoAnne, and others too many to name. Your office has given me a new start, for better food enjoyment, as well as good nutrition. Dave B.

Dentures Can Provide Full-Arch Teeth Replacement

Dentures have been used to replace missing teeth for centuries. Today’s modern designs give patients a wide range of options. Custom-crafted and removable for easy cleaning, these prostheses are more lifelike and natural-looking than ever before.

Types of Dentures Our Practice Offers

The three primary types of dentures we provide include:

Full Dentures

Complete Dentures

These traditional prostheses are probably what you envision when you think of dentures. Full conventional dentures replace all of the teeth on either the upper or lower dental arch. Traditional dentures rest on top of the gums and rely on natural suction and adhesives for support.

Partial Dentures

Partial Dentures

Individuals who are missing several non-adjacent teeth may benefit from a partial denture. These prostheses rest on the gums as well but also have metal clasps that anchor the partial dentures to nearby teeth for additional stability.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-Supported Dentures

Since the advent of dental implants, this type of restoration has gained substantial recognition and popularity. Like their traditional counterparts, implant-supported dentures can be removable. However, they are attached to dental implants for maximum stability.

Benefits of Implant-Supported Dentures

It is true that our high-quality traditional dentures can restore your smile fairly quickly. And it is also true that the implant process to place artificial tooth roots in your jaw involves oral surgeries and healing periods. However, implant-supported dentures do have major advantages over traditional ones:

Shifting or slipping out of your mouth when you eat, talk, or laugh.

Need for gooey adhesives to keep the dentures stuck to your gums.

Removing them for soaking in a liquid solution for cleaning. Just brush and floss normally.

Jawbone shrinkage where teeth are missing, as implants encourage new bone growth.

Replacing traditional dentures after only a few years. Implant-supported dentures last much longer.

Do I Need to See a Specialist for Implant Surgery?

Both of our dentists are certified in all aspects of implant dentistry, from determining your candidacy through digital scanning to placing your implants and restorations. They can even perform preparatory procedures such as bone grafts if you do not have enough healthy jawbone to support implants. So there is no need to waste time driving to an expensive oral surgeon for treatment.

Treatment Timeline For Implant-Supported Dentures

"We offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide sedation for patients anxious about the procedure."
"We offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide sedation for patients anxious about the procedure."

Free Consultation

Begin the process of implant-supported dentures by joining our dentists in the office for a free consultation. Your dentist will formulate a plan for placing the implants and note any preparatory procedures here. Cost breakdowns will also be available at this time.

Preparatory Procedures

Good oral health is necessary for patients to receive implants. Any preparatory dental procedures, such as gum disease treatment, will be performed prior to starting the implant placement process.

Our doctors will numb the placement site with a local anesthetic to make the process virtually painless. We also offer oral sedation and nitrous oxide sedation for patients anxious about the procedure.

Implant Placement

The dentist will place the implant post at this time. Our doctors are master implantologists who carefully deliver stunning results. Once the titanium posts are in place, the healing process begins. It takes about three to six months for the implant posts to fully fuse to the jawbone before the permanent restoration can be placed.

Creating the Denture

Impressions of your mouth are taken to ensure a perfect fit for your dentures. The partial or complete denture is then created to fit your mouth comfortably.

Placing the Denture

You'll join us in our Staten Island office for your final appointment once your implants are successfully fused and your dentures are ready. An abutment piece is placed to connect the screw to the restoration.

Offering All-on-4 Dental Implants

All-on-4 Dental Implants

This solution offers fixed full-arch teeth replacement using only four dental implants. Because All-on-4® maximizes existing healthy jawbone, it is often recommended for those who have experienced some degree of bone atrophy. If you undergo All-on-4 treatment at our practice, we can place a temporary denture immediately so you can leave our office with a brand-new smile while your permanent dentures are being crafted.

Treatment Costs

The cost of dentures will vary depending on several factors. Aspects of your dentures cost are any preparatory procedures you receive, the type of dentures, and if you're choosing implant-supported dentures. You can save and manage your treatment cost with the following methods:

Insurance should cover most or all of your dental treatment for traditional dentures. However, implants are not covered by dental insurance.

If you don't have insurance or if your insurance doesn't cover your treatment, our dentistry office has in-house financing plans that can help you manage the cost with monthly payments.

Patients that pay for their treatment in full receive a discount on the overall cost. Patients that use cash or are seniors receive a 5% discount, and patients using credit to pay in full receive a 2.9% discount.
