Dr. Jason Hecht
Dr. Jason Hecht, the son of Dr. Alex Hecht, graduated from the same dental school as his father, New York University College of Dentistry, just over 30 years after him. Growing up with such a highly respected practitioner in the field as his father, Dr. Jason Hecht was inspired to follow in his footsteps. During his time at school, the two of them enjoyed discussing the many changes in the school’s curriculum that have occurred over the years, and the incredible advances in technology.
Dr. Jason Hecht wanted from the very beginning of his dental education, to be at the forefront of new technologies and methods of mouth restorations.
He was a founding member of the school’s implant study club, in which he had a bountiful opportunity to learn from the world’s leading experts in implant dentistry; doctors who volunteered their time to teach, just because they loved to. Dr. Hecht also volunteered in some of the school’s post-doctoral education programs, where he gained hands-on-experience in advanced implant placement and treatment, a feat rarely experienced by doctors before graduating, if not ever.
Dr. Jason Hecht decided that additional training after dental school would benefit his patients, and he completed a one year dental residency at the Staten Island University Hospital Dental Clinic. There he gained indispensable experience in treating patients with various medical conditions, and in treating innumerable dental emergencies. His experience there furthered his expertise in general dentistry, cosmetic bonding, one visit root canals, and invisalign (invisible braces).
Dr. Jason Hecht works with his own patients in the practice, and works closely as well with Dr. Alex Hecht’s patients. They work together starting from the treatment planning stage, in the delivery of treatment and in the follow up care. This team approach to treatment allows for seamless delivery of dental care.
Dr. Jason Hecht loves to spend time with his wife and young son. They often all go together on walks at the Staten Island Midland Beach boardwalk. Their favorite sports include skiing, tennis and cross country running. Other hobbies Dr. Hecht enjoys are cooking, photography, drawing and sculpting.
